Swedish defenseman Tomas Jonsson won the Stanley Cup with the New York Islanders dynasty each of his first two seasons in the NHL. Jonsson’s rookie-era circa-1981-83 Islanders game-worn blue mesh jersey is from the outset of his career. Sandow SK logo is heat-screened in white vinyl on the right rear tail and Jonsson’s No. “3” is handwritten in black marker on the washed-out Sandow flag tag in the back of the neck along with a washed-out laundry instruction flag tag. What remains of the fight strap is the canvas patch, which has let go its stitching on the top and bottom in the middle. Game wear includes marks on the front tail and scuffs on the multi-twill Islanders crest sewn on the front.
More game wear includes marks on the number on the back, a black mark and board burn on the left rear tail, board burns on the right shoulder and low on the right sleeve, a small black mark on the orange stripe on the back of the right sleeve, and a couple of reddish-brown stains on the right side of the Islanders crest.
