Hailing from the sixth season of NHL hockey played in the Southern United States by the Atlanta Flames is this jersey worn by former 2nd overall pick, Tom Lysiak during the 1977-78 season. This white durene beauty has a Rawlings size “48” label affixed inside the inner collar with the front of the jersey having been styled with a red, white and gold layered tackle twill team crest. Lysiak’s “12” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material. The front of the jersey is accented with a crudely sewn on captain’s “C” as Lysiak was named captain of the Flames starting with the 1977-78 season. The interior of the jersey features a loop style fight strap. Worth noting, the Flames intermittently wore nameplates on their jerseys for TV games and there is no clear visible outline of a nameplate having ever been affixed to the jersey. Game wear is well exhibited on the jersey with the front having black stick marks over the lower half as well as five team repairs, staining, unrepaired holes and board burns. The sleeves show similar black stick marks as well as light red staining near the cuffs while a single team repair is found on the lower reverse below the striping.
