Canada went undefeated at the IIHF World Junior Championship held in Russia in 1988. The pivotal match came against the Russians, with Canada edging the host nation by a score of 3-2. It was the only loss for the silver-medal winning Russians. Defenceman Greg Hawgood led the scoring for Canada with nine points and Flames prospect Theo Fleury posted an impressive eight-point performance. This exquisite 1988 IIHF World Junior Championship 10K gold ring sports the Maple Leaf at the top floating in a sea of red encircled by the words "World Junior Champions, Canada". One shank has the raise "1988" along with the logo of the IIHF with the logo of Hockey Canada and the surname of the team's athletic therapist, "Parent" and "AT", running across a scroll. The size 11 ring is stamped "10K" inside the band and has an approximate weight of 21 grams. Exhibiting moderate wear from use, the ring shows a number of scratches along with blemishes over the outer and interior bands, with edge dings also visible. An LOA will accompany.
