Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

No stranger to representing his nation on the international stage, Sidney Crosby first donned Canada’s iconic maple leaf at the 2003 U-18 Junior World Cup, with his most noteworthy appearance for Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics where he served as tournament hero. Originating from the 2016 World Cup of Hockey where Sidney and his fellow countrymen took gold, we have a signed stick used by Crosby, photo-matched to the tournament-clinching Game 2 of the finals! A CCM Ribcore model with “Crosby 87” factory graphics, the original black tape remains on the blade and white ribbed-style pattern over the handle with handwritten “87”, with a serial number and bar code affixed to the underside. Sidney has signed the front side heel in silver, with the signature standing out beautifully against the black background. Hailing from the personal collection of a Montreal Canadiens/Chicago Black Hawks executive, a Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
The stick shows good game-use with wear including tears to the taped section of blade, with a few marks to the lower shaft. Getty Image #611470474 (Game 2 of the final of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, Sept 29, 2016) has been matched to the tape job over the handle, specifically to the placement of the tape relative to the graphics, with the two handwritten black dots including their placement matching, with the spiral tape pattern and the specific tape wrinkle to the left of the centered spiral pattern visible.
