Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Serving as one of the greatest goals in history and routinely compared to both Paul Henderson’s 1972 Summit Series winner and Mario Lemieux’s 1987 Canada Cup-clincher, Sidney Crosby’s golden goal electrified our hockey-centric nation, and announced to the world at large that this is still our game. Honouring the famous 2010 Olympic overtime winner, we have a framed celebratory photo signed by Sid the Kid, accompanied by a second framed “Golden Goal” photo (unsigned). At 8” x 10” and picturing Sidney post-goal, soon to be embraced by his teammates, the superstar has added a perfect blue sharpie signature. Framed to 19 ¼” x 19 ¼”, a pin has been inserted above, along with a name plate beneath. The unsigned photo is 8” x 10” and shows Crosby just scoring the historic marker, framed to 15 ¼” x 17 ¼”. A hologram from Frameworth has been affixed to the signed frame, with a matching COA to accompany.
