Backstopping the first American club ever to be crowned Allan Cup champions, Seth Martin was a regular with Team Canada throughout the 1960s, appearing in four IIHF World Championships and the 1961 Winter Olympics where he won gold with the Trail Smoke Eaters. Martin would also win bronze medals in 1966 and 1967, and was named the Top Goaltender in four different major international tournaments, including the 1964 Winter Olympics. Martin would see just a single season of action in the NHL, teaming with Glenn Hall to help lead the expansion St Louis Blues to the 1968 Stanley Cup final. Originally obtained from the star netminder, we have a vintage late-1960s/early-1970s fiberglass mask worn by Martin with Team Canada paint scheme. Sporting low-set eye sockets with especially large openings over the forehead and at the cheeks, a bright red maple leaf serves as design, with multi-colour strapping. Void of any interior padding, the mask shows wear with scratches, marks and chips to the surface paint, with additional heavy wear and added reinforcement stitching to the strapping. Martin was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 1997.
