The 2005-06 season was a big one for Ryan Smyth and the Edmonton Oilers. Captain Canada had one of his best seasons with 36 goals and 66 points then helped lead the Oilers to within one win of the Stanley Cup in the playoffs. Smyth’s 2005-06 Oilers game-worn alternate captain’s jersey is photo-matched to two games from that season. Elite and size 56 flag tags sit in the back of the neck. MeiGray NHL 2004-05 Game-Worn Jersey tagging has the “2005-06 Season” patch sewn on to the right. Oilers Set #2 team patch is sewn on to the left and a Velcro strip is sewn on inside the right rear hem. Solid game wear with black marks on the front tail and both sleeves, which have board burns and burn holes. Comes with an Oilers/MeiGray LOA.
The photo matches are the distinct pattern of black marks on the right front tail and the loose thread on the top right of the secondary logo patch on the left shoulder that show on two December 21, 2005 Getty photos of Smyth wearing this gamer, and the two long black marks on the bottom of the Oilers crest on the front of the jersey that show in a Getty photo of Smyth from February 7.
