A veteran of 287 National Hockey League games over the course of ten 10 seasons in the league, Rory Fitzpatrick would play 157 of them wearing the uniform of the Buffalo Sabres between 2001 and 2006. Up for grabs here, is this Sabres jersey worn by Fitzpatrick during the 2005-06 season. Made by Reebok, the jersey shows a single size “58” tag affixed to the inner collar while the logos of Reebok and the NHL shield are found over the reverse neckline and hem respectively. Decorated over the front with a Sabres team crest that was in use between 1996 and 2006 and features both textured and embroidered details, matching alternate logo patches reside over each shoulder as well. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Fitzpatrick’s number “8” in tri-layer three colour tackle twill numerals, “Fitzpatrick” is spelt out in dual layer white-over-red tackle twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Showing game-use via stick marks and unrepaired holes over both sleeves, additional wear is observed via board burns over the right sleeve and a spot of red paint transfer on the left one. A MeiGray tag numbered “C01693” is sewn inside the rear hem and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “White Set 1” specimen. Additionally, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #56053675 (October 28th, 2005 vs New Jersey) to the stick marks seen above the "8" on the right sleeve. A matching MeiGray LOA will accompany the piece.
