Superb lot commemorating Rogie Vachon's magnificent goaltending performance in the 1976 Canada Cup includes the outstanding Team Canada Player plaque presented to the Los Angeles Kings' All-Star goalie. Rogie posted his first of two shutouts in the tournament during the round robin phase when he held Canada's opponents to six goals in five games. He shut out Czechoslovakia in the opening game of the best-2-of-3 final and helped lead Canada to a 5-4 overtime win in Game 2 to clinch the title. From Rogie's personal collection, this vintage 1976 Canada Cup plaque features "Rogatien Vachon" engraved on the "Outstanding Player For Team Canada" copper plaque, which measures 6 1/4" x 8 1/4" and is mounted along with a Toyota car key on a 9" x 12" wood plaque. Also included is Rogie's signed 1976 Team Canada jersey from the International Ice Hockey Federation's 100th anniversary celebrations in 2008. "Rogie Vachon 30" reads Rogie's blue marker signature to the left of the Nike logo on the back of his #30 Canada jersey which features red twill numbers sewn onto the back and sleeves and surname letters sewn onto a white nameplate. Stylized Canada half maple leaf logos on the front and sleeves are screened red vinyl. "1976" banner patch is sewn on the left rear tail with the IIHF 100th Anniversary patch on the right side. Size 56 Nike Team Sports and IIHF Authentic Collection tagging in the neck. Comes with Rogatien Vachon's signed LOA.
