Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Drafted 4th overall by the New York Islanders in 1997 and spending just 24 games with the club before being traded to Florida, this photo-matched Islanders jersey was worn by Roberto Luongo during his rookie season of 1999-00. A CCM “Goalie Style” label and size “58” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a thick, layered team crest, “1” appears over the sleeves and verso in tri-colour tackle twill, with the NHL 2000 crest over the right breast. With just a few marks visible including over the lower front, there is also minor paint transfer near each elbow section, with pilling along the collar. The image from a 2000-01 Pacific hockey card (#253 included) has been matched to the black marks in the "NY" of the team crest, and to the black mark on the lower right edge of the team crest. The team patch has been screened onto the inside hem, with an LOA from the Islanders to accompany.
