Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
A veteran of 18 NHL seasons shared amongst six different clubs, Rick Tocchet made appearances at four All-Star Games and won a trio of Stanley Cup championships, including as both player and executive. From his second season in Beantown, we have a Boston Bruins alternate jersey worn by the all-time Gordie Howe Hat Trick leader in 1996-97. NHL Starter labeling with a “52-R” size swatch is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and Starter crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a partially embroidered Bruins team crest, “22” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered black twill with white trim, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The jersey also sports custom-shortened sleeves with each circumference widened. Showing light game-use with a few marks visible including over the reverse, the Bruins patch over the left shoulder has had reinforcing threading added. The team stamp is situated over the inner hem, and it denotes the garment as a “1st Set” example.
