Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A component of Buffalo’s famous French Connection line that terrorized netminders throughout most of the 1970s, Rick Martin was drafted fifth overall in 1971, and he would go on to make 7 straight All-Star appearances from 1972 to 1978. We have a Sabres jersey that was worn by the Verdun native in 1977-78. Labels from both Rawlings and Dekdebrun’s sit affixed to the collar, with a loop-style fight strap utilized with added component. Styled with an attractive Sabres team crest with embroidered detailing, the durene tie-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with faint evidence of a nameplate that once graced the sweater’s reverse. Moderate wear is visible to the material along with team repairs over the lower front and each sleeve, with interior pilling within the upper sleeves.
