Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
One of the famous six brothers that all carved out impressive NHL hockey careers, Rich Sutter was drafted 10th overall in 1982, with appearance made throughout his career for seven different NHL clubs including Toronto, Chicago and Vancouver. We have a Canucks jersey that was worn by the Viking native in 1986-87, his first of four seasons spent in British Columbia. A partially-attached Maska label sits affixed to the collar with “86 04” born-on date tag, with an embroidered CCM crest over the back bottom hem. Styled with the famous “skate” team crest with embroidered detailing, the vintage V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Sutter” across the nameplate in matching material along with the Rick Hansen “World Tour” crest over the reverse hem.
Measuring across the reverse from armpit to armpit the jersey is 25”, which equates to roughly a size 50. It should also be noted that evidence of a former nameplate is present, with the current nameplate restored to the jersey. Game-wear includes a few marks over each sleeve, with some wear to the team crest. There is also some pilling to the interior.
