Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
The right-wing component of the famed French Connection line, Rene Robert graced the NHL with his presence for 12 seasons, appearing for four different clubs, with the Trois-Rivières native best known for his time with Buffalo. We have a signed Sabres jersey that originates from Robert’s personal collection, with the jersey first sold in 2005. A Rawlings label with “54” sizing is affixed to the collar, with the team crest administered in tackle twill with chain-stitched sabres. We believe the sleeve and verso numbers along with the “Robert” nameplate were later added to a vintage 1970s Sabres jersey for Robert to wear/use in oldtimers games/events. Rene has signed the reverse of the team crest in black marker, adding “French Connection”, with the signature displaying well. The original Robert-signed LOA from when the jersey sold in 2005 will accompany.
A few small marks and stains are visible over the lower front, with some pilling over each lower sleeve and cuff.
