Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The third time the prestigious tournament was held, the 1984 Canada Cup witnessed the Canadians defeating the Swedes in the final, with Wayne Gretzky leading the tournament in scoring and John Tonelli taking home the MVP honours. From his personal collection, we have the ring that was presented to iconic blueliner Ray Bourque for his participation with Team Canada. Size 10 with an approx weight of 16 grams, a Team Canada half maple leaf sits raised on the tableau, encompassed by “Coupe Canada Cup” in raised letters, with four small diamonds inserted beneath. “19” appears on one shank in raised numerals, with “84” in matching font gracing the other. Stamped "10K" on the inner band along with a hallmark, the ring displays wonderfully, with light wear throughout, along with a few very small and minor dings along edges. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
