Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Inviting for type collectors are our consignor's wrapper and card lots, with a fabulous opportunity here, highlighted by a rare sighting; a paper wrapper that once went around a Paterson Hockey League Bar. The chocolate treat was made even more appealing by the "handsome photogravure of a famous Canadian National Hockey League star" that was included with each candy bar. The thought of a youngster pulling out a rookie card of Morenz or Joliat or Clancy or even the short-printed Bert Corbeau card from this very packaging sure is fascinating. Wrapper is 2-1/4" by 4", creased down the middle, with a quarter-inch tear at the base of the crease, another tear at the tattered right end and soiling/staining on the reverse. Oh so rare and desirable, it is joined by a rookie card of Hamilton Tiger Red Green, just the eighth NHL player to score five goals in a game, (the following season), with card #31 having been examined and graded EX 5 by SGC.
