Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A standout with the Montreal Canadiens despite his short tenure which included scoring better than a-point-a-game throughout his 110 regular-season and playoff games, Pierre Turgeon was selected first overall by Buffalo in 1987 and dressed for a total of six NHL clubs. This Canadiens alternate captain’s jersey was issued to the star for the 1995-96 season. A Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the collar along with embroidered CCM and NHL logos on the reverse hem (the original Center Ice and size tags were removed), with the sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 56. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “77” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Turgeon” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. Issued but never worn, the jersey remains in gorgeous new condition. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, a Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
