Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018

The Broad Street Bullies ruled the NHL in the mid-1970s and this Philadelphia Flyers 1974-75 Stanley Cup championship Bobby Clarke sample ring represents their second straight championship. The tableau of this non-gold size 11 1/2 sample ring features an enamel Flyers logo on a textured silver-colored background. “Philadelphia Flyers” is spelled out in raised letters on the upper bezel with “Stanley Cup Champions” wrapped around the rest of the bezel. “Clarke” appears atop the left shank and “Campbell Conference Champions” is at the top of the right shank. These rings were made by Balfour and the Balfour stamping and serial sample number usually found inside the band were most likely buffed out.
The left shank has “Clarke” across the top with the year “1975” split in the middle by the upper portion of a raised image of the Stanley Cup, and No. “16” at the bottom.
“Campbell Conference Champions” is spelled out across the top of the right shank, which features an image of the Campbell Bowl and the Flyers’ “51-18-11” regular season record and the NHL logo at the bottom.
