Originally drafted 43rd overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 1983, Peter Taglianetti, a product of the Providence Friars hockey program in the NCAA would enjoy stops in Winnipeg and Minnesota before finding himself in Pittsburgh as a member of the Penguins where he would win back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 1991 and 1992. Closing out his career after spending the 1995-96 season in the American Hockey League, offered here is this Penguins jersey worn by Taglianetti during the 1991-92 season. Made by CCM, a Maska Ultrafil label with Taglianetti's number "32" penned to it in black marker ink is affixed to the inner collar alongside a size "52" fly tag while the logos of both CCM and the NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Penguins team crest that features embroidered details, the NHL's 75 anniversary patch has been sewn over the right breast while the franchise's 25th anniversary and Bob Johnson memorial patches have been placed over the right and left shoulders respectively. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Taglianetti's number "32" in dual layer tackle twill numerals, "Taglianetti" is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Exhibiting just overall light game-wear, stick marks are found over the lower front, reverse and both sleeves, heaviest on the right side, while some spot stains are observed throughout the piece as well. Additionally, light sweat staining is seen around the collar along with light fraying/pilling around the edges of the elbow reinforcements on the interior.
