Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
One of only 7 players throughout the history of the NHL to record at least 6 consecutive 100+ point seasons, Peter Stastny is best remembered as a member of the Quebec Nordiques, spending a decade in the francophone locale. We have a signed and photo-matched Nordiques jersey worn by the Slovak in 1982-83, his third season with the club, where he netted 124 points. A Maska Ultrafil label remains affixed to the collar along with a laundering tag, with an embroidered Maska crest over the back bottom hem. Measuring out to roughly a size 48 and styled with a gorgeous tackle twill Nordiques team crest with embroidered detailing, the solid blue garment has been accented with white heat-pressed vinyl sleeve and verso numbers, with “Stastny” over the nameplate in matching material. There are also heat-pressed fleur-de-lys emblems over the lower front, reverse and shoulders, with a 1983 Canada Games patch over the left shoulder.
Witnessing heavy use, stick marks are present over the front and sleeves, with burns and small holes/tears near each elbow section, along with heavy paint transfer over the left sleeve’s number and bottom hem. The vinyl numbers over the reverse and sleeves exhibit spots that are cracking/peeling, with this also occurring slightly to the affixed fleur-de-lys emblems. An included numeric image along with a numeric image from a team postcard have both been matched to the loose material on the top of the team crest, and to the visible threading along the top edge of the puck in the team crest.
