A member of the prestigious Triple Gold Club and the only Swede to complete each of the three requirements twice, Peter Forsberg earned numerous accolades and awards throughout his Hall of Fame career, including the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player, in 2003. This photo-matched Quebec Nordiques jersey was worn by the superstar during his rookie campaign in 1994-95, a Calder Memorial-winning season that witnessed Forsberg score an impressive 50 points in just 47 games. A Maska label and size 56 fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL logos gracing the lower hem. Styled with a layered tackle twill team crest, “21” appears over the sleeves and verso in white-over-red twill, with fleur-de-lis in matching material affixed over the lower front, reverse and shoulders. Worn by one of the modern era’s greatest players, this highly desirable sweater hails from the collection of Michael Wexler, with an LOA to accompany.
Showing heavy game use, stick marks and scrapes are visible over the team crest and lower front, with numerous additional burns, marks and scrapes over the sleeves. There is also some red paint transfer over the reverse hem, with team repairs over each sleeve including four on the left and three on the right along with six on/near the right shoulder. Five included numeric images have been used for the photo-matches, with one matched to the partially washed-out long white mark on the lower left sleeve (about 2 ½” above the cuff), while a second image is matched to the white mark in the blue band in the lower middle of the team crest, and to the diagonal white mark above the "2" on the left sleeve. The third image is matched to the small black mark in the blue band in the lower left corner of the team crest, and to the two small black marks below, just to the left of the team crest, while the fourth image is matched to all the repairs on the right shoulder and most of the marks in that area, and to the two black marks in the upper left of the team crest. Finally, the fifth image has been matched to the semi-circular black mark on the lower front hem as well as the dark mark 6" to its right, and to the long diagonal black mark between the two, to the black marks on the "2" on the left sleeve and the pair of white marks above it. The image is also matched to the team repair on the left front shoulder and a number of marks in the team crest.
