Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Recalled for duty after his heroics two years previously, Paul Henderson would again represent Team Canada in 1974, and along with Frank Mahovlich and Pat Stapleton, the trio would be the only players to appear in both tournaments. Hailing from his personal collection, we have a great group of 1974 Team Canada memorabilia. First, we have a program from Moscow (8 ¾” x 11 ½” - for Oct 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th matches) signed inside by Brad Selwood and Bruce MacGregor, a line-up press release (8” x 12”), two programs for matches vs CSSR in Prague, four Canadian programs, a full ticket to a game in Vancouver vs USSR (September 23, 1974), a small “1974 Team Canada” pin, a souvenir puck from the September 27 contest vs Finland, a pair of Russian mini-pennants and a mini-stick, and finally, a photo of Gordie Howe in 1974 game-action (10 ¾” x 13 ¾”). A signed LOA from Paul Henderson will accompany.
The Russian program and line-up press release both show moderate wear, with fold lines, creasing and toning to the press release, with light to moderate wear to the CSSR and Canadian programs. The full ticket also shows moderate handling wear, with some warping to the Howe photo.
