This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Drafted 102nd overall by the Montreal Canadiens at the 1990 National Hockey League Entry Draft after four (4) seasons with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League, Paul DiPietro would play a total of 192 games in the NHL over the course of his career with Montreal, Toronto and Los Angeles, winning a Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in 1993 in which he scored twice in their Cup clinching Game 5 on home ice against the Los Angeles Kings. Offered here and hailing from DiPietro's personal collection, is this Montreal Canadiens jersey worn by him during the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals including the night he hoisted Lord Stanley's mug after his two goal performance. Made by CCM, washed out Maska Ultrafil and size "50" labels are affixed to the inner collar while both the CCM and NHL shield logos have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with Montreal's famed "CH" crest in layered tackle twill, the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals patch has been added to a piece of material and subsequently sewn over top of the Stanley Cup centennial crest that was worn throughout the season. Accented over the sleeves and verso with DiPietro's number "15" in dual layer blue-over-red tackle twill numerals, "DiPietro" is spelt out in single layer blue twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back. Exhibiting moderate game-wear with stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, bullet style team repairs are observed throughout the garment as well, totalling ten (10) by our count. Also showing red and board paint transfer marks over both sleeves as well as board burns, a large red coloured transfer mark is found above the CCM logo at the reverse hem and good pilling is present throughout the entirety of the interior along with salting to the fight strap. Additionally, the jersey has been video-matched to Montreal's Cup clinching Game 5 win via the red paint transfer over the CCM logo on the reverse and to a stick mark that while no faded, is seen over the right elbow. A copy of the original LOA signed by DiPietro will accompany the lot.
