Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Originating from his second of two seasons spent in Pennsylvania with the Bullies, we have a Philadelphia Flyers jersey worn by superstar defenceman Paul Coffey, and it’s been photo-matched! A Nike size “50” label with handwritten “77” sits affixed to the collar near a partially-detached Center Ice tag, with embroidered NHL and Nike crests over the back bottom hem. Styled with the forever popular winged-P Flyers team crest, the mesh-style V-neck has been accented with oversized tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Coffey” across the nameplate in single white twill. Getty Image #275870 from March 24th 1998 has been matched to the loose thread on the lower portion of the team's crest, and to the small loose threads on the "77" over the right sleeve. A signed LOA from Paul Coffey will accompany.
Marks are present over the lower front and sleeves, with larger examples near the left sleeve’s number. Board burns are also present over the right elbow, with some interior pilling just above the team crest as well as paint transfer over the second reverse “7”.
