Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Reunited with former Edmonton Oilers teammate Wayne Gretzky, Paul Coffey was traded from the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Los Angeles Kings in 1992 after winning a Stanley Cup, and spent parts of two season in Tinseltown with The Great One. This Kings alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the three-time James Norris winner in 1992-93. A Maska Ultrafil label and size “52” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with NHL and CCM crests over the reverse hem. Styled with the classic Kings’ team crest with embroidered detailing, the vintage V-neck sweater has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the Stanley Cup centennial crest sewn to the right breast. The team patch resides on the inside hem, and it denotes the jersey as a “Set 2” specimen. Sporting great game-use, there are a few dark marks over the front and sleeves along with a pair of board burns with resulting hole on the right elbow, with a large team repair placed adjacently.
