Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Receiving NHL First All-Star Team selection an impressive four times, Patrick Roy captured pairs of Stanley Cup championships with two different clubs, and is still widely considered one of the greatest goaltenders in history. This signed stick was used by the superstar while with the Colorado Avalanche in 1999-00. A KOHO 500 model with “P. Roy” stamped to the upper shaft, the stick retains the original white tape over the blade and lower paddle, black over the handle and black-over-white on the upper shaft. There is also a factory date code which is illegible. St Patrick has blessed the front side paddle with a large black marker signature that is somewhat camouflaged over the dark background. Hailing from the personal collection of a prominent hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
Just light game-use is exhibited on the desirable lumber, with a bit of wear to the underside blade and minor spotting/yellowing to the tape job. There is also some red paint transfer on the upper shaft.
