One of the greatest in a long line of goaltenders to protect the twine for the Montreal Canadiens, Patrick Roy would register a stat line of 31-25-5 during the 1992-93 season, which included a 3.20 GAA and a .894 save percentage to go along with a pair of shutouts. Turning it on for the playoffs as he usually did, posting 16 wins in 20 games played and a .929 save percentage as the Habs knocked off the Nordiques, Sabres, Islanders and Kings to clinch the franchise's 24th Stanley Cup championship, Roy would earn the second of three Conn Smythe Trophy's in his career. Named to the fifth All-Star Game of his career that season, offered here is this Wales Conference jersey worn by the 2006 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee during the 1993 NHL All-Star Game that was played on Roy's home ice at the Montreal Forum. Coming with excellent provenance, our consignor received the jersey from his Godfather, Steve Hatze Petros, the Sr. Vice President of Scheduling & Broadcasting for the NHL. A CCM made offering that displays both Maska Air-Knit and size "56" labels affixed to the inner collar, both the NHL shield and CCM logo have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Styled over the front with a large NHL shield crest that is done in layered tackle twill, black twill stars have been sewn on over the lower front and reverse, the Stanley Cup Centennial patch has been added over the right breast. Accented over the left shoulder with an alternate logo patch, the right shoulder sports the all-important 1993 NHL All-Star Game event crest. Having had Roy's number "33" sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer tackle twill numerals, "Roy" is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Having been signed by Roy with a black marker ink signature that displays well and without issue, the jersey exhibits just light game-wear in the form of a couple of puck marks over the lower front and left sleeve, light staining under the collar/above the front crest and a small red post paint transfer mark that graces the left sleeve.
