Playing his junior hockey as a member of the Edmonton Oil Kings in the WCJHL before turning pro with the Detroit Red Wings, Norm Ullman would play a total of 1410 National Hockey League games over the course of a career that saw him don the NHL colours of both Detroit and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Also playing 144 games in the World Hockey Association as a member of the Edmonton Oilers, offered here is this Maple Leafs jersey worn by the two-time All-Star and 1982 HHOF inductee during the 1972-73 campaign. Made by Rawlings and sporting a brand tag that displays a size "46" designation affixed inside the reverse hem, the heavy durene knit garment can be distinguished as a '72-'73 specimen based on the collar style as this was the only season that the team didn't do tie-neck collars. Styled over the front with a classic Maple Leafs team crest that has had "Toronto Maple Leafs" embroidered into it, matching alternate logo crests have been added over both shoulders while the alternate captain's "A" has been sewn over the left breast. Having had Ullman's number "9" sewn to the sleeves and verso in single layer tackle twill numerals that are either blue or white on colour depending on their resting place on the uniform, the jersey exhibits just overall light game-wear as it was dry cleaned at some point in time. Displaying with light board burns and scrapes over both sleeves and stick marks through the front crest, a black stick mark is seen through the number on the left arm covering while a small team repair is observed underneath the team crest on the front, along with the ghostly remains of some stick marks at the hem line. Void of a fight strap on the interior, light pilling is observed on the interior and the sleeves sport stretching that is frequently seen on durene knit examples. Accompanied by a MeiGray LOA and COR, it is worth mentioning that the jersey is incorrectly listed as being a 1973-74 example.
