Seeing sparse NHL action throughout his lengthy professional career, Murray Eaves was drafted by Winnipeg in 1980 and skated in 57 NHL contests for the Jets and Detroit spread over parts of eight seasons. This Red Wings jersey hails from the 1986-87 set and was worn by the Calgary native in 1987-88, where he appeared in 7 regular-season contests. Measuring-out to a size 50 and with a Maska label affixed along the collar (with born-on date of “86 04”), Eastside and CCM crests appear heat-pressed and embroidered respectively on the reverse hem. Styled with the classic winged-wheel team crest with embroidered detailing, “38” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single twill, with “Eaves” in individual letters affixed directly to the upper reverse. Sporting light to moderate game-use, there are a few marks visible including stick marks over the left elbow and lower reverse. Two team repairs are also present, situated on the upper reverse and at the base of the front band.
