Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Bleu BLANC rouge! The color scheme of the seats at the old Montreal Forum reflected the famous team’s colors as evidenced by this single white seat, which was removed from the famous arena after the final game was played there on March 11, 1996, and it has since been signed by Habs legend Jean Beliveau. The original number “4” remains stencil painted in red on the seatback, a number that has been retired for Beliveau. Added to the seatback are a CH decal along with “Jean Beliveau”, with his career stats listed. Jean has signed on the left hand side in black marker, and the signature displays well. All set for display with an included, finished 25” x 20 ½” x 4 ½” wooden base. A COA for the seat itself will accompany.
The seat stands just under 36” tall, with the frame, seat back and seat all surviving in pleasing condition. There is some light surface wear to the seat back along with the seat covering itself, but there is no obtrusive wear or damage present that undermines the exceptional display value.
