Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Representing the Montreal Canadiens 94th season of hockey, the 2002-03 campaign is most noteworthy for the major change behind the bench, with Claude Julien taking over from Michel Therrien midway through the season. We have a charming Habs wood carved display, with this original artwork team-signed by 19 members of the 2002-03 Canadiens. At 18” x 22 ¾” and with a wonderful folk art aesthetic, three 1 ¼” wood planks have been joined, with the famous CH logo carved out of the center section and fully coloured. Each signature has been administered in black marker, including Mariusz Czerkawski, Jeff Hackett, Craig Rivet, Stephane Quintal, Jan Bulis, Patrice Brisebois, Joe Juneau, Richard Zednik, Oleg Petrov, Andreas Dackell, Mike Ribeiro, Sylvain Blouin, Karl Dykhuis and six others. The unique artwork displays well, with no issues for the signatures. Wiring has been affixed to the reverse to facilitate hanging, with a small design along with “2001” carved into the bottom right.
