Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Proud members in the historic line of Montreal goaltenders that includes Vezina, Hainsworth, and Jacques Plante, this lot contains sticks from more modern Habs, with game-used examples from Dryden, Sevigny, Wamsley, Thomas and Bunny Larocque. We have Sher-Wood, Canadien and Louisville models present, with all sticks showing heavy use. The Dryden stick is one of his customary mid-1970’s Sher-Wood examples, with the original tape on the blade and shaft/knob. “Dryden” and “29” are stamped onto the upper shaft, with a date code of “Nov 17 1975” on the underside of the paddle. With heavy use showing, including puck marks and cracks to the blade, Dryden has added a nice ballpoint signature and it presents well.
The breakdown for the remaining four sticks in the lot are as follows; 1) Richard Sevigny Canadien model stick. The original tape jobs remain on the blade and upper shaft, with “Sevigny” stamped on. The blade is cracked with separation around the heel section. 2) Rick Wamsley Louisville model stick. The original tape jobs remain on the blade and upper shaft, with “Wamsley” stamped on. Heavy use is exhibited including wear to the blade along with a cracked shaft. 3) Michel Larocque Canadien model stick. The original tape jobs remain on the blade and upper shaft, with “Larocque” stamped on. The blade shows heavy use, including large cracking present. 4) Wayne Thomas Sher-Wood model stick. The original tape jobs remain on the blade and upper shaft, with “Thomas W.” stamped on. The blade and paddle shows heavy use, with cracking present to both areas.
