Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Selected by Calgary in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, Mike Vernon would play in parts of 13 seasons in his hometown, winning a Stanley Cup in Alberta in 1989. This Flames jersey was worn by the netminder in 1989-90. A Maska Air-Knit tag remains affixed to the collar including handwritten “52”, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Featuring dual-colour tackle twill numbers along with the team crest in use until 1994, the jersey also sports the Flames 10th anniversary patch over the left shoulder along with custom-shortened sleeves. Visible wear on the garment is light, with a few marks and light stains on the lower front band. There is also a small stain near the left armpit along with some spotting along the back lower band. An LOA will accompany.
We should note that the accompanying LOA erroneously identifies this garment as originating from the 1990-91 season.
