Spending five years in the WHA as a member of the Minnesota Fighting Saints from 1972-73 to 1976-77, Mike Curran played his university hockey with the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux where he played in a pair of NCAA National Championship games in his two years with the school. Also suiting up with the United States National Team on numerous occasions, including at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Japan where he led the team to a surprising silver medal victory, he was named the tournament's MVP as his 51-save performance against the Czechs is thought to rival any goaltending performance in Olympic history. Inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998 and the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1999, offered here is this Team USA jersey worn by Curran during the 1976 Canada Cup. Made by Athletic Knit, labeling displaying a size "46" designation is affixed to the inner collar with the vintage durene jersey sporting a V-neck collar. Decorated over the front with a rubberized Team USA crest and accented over the shoulders with rubberized red stars, Curran's number "30" is found over the reverse in rubberized red-over-white dual layer numerals while "Curran" is spelt out across the top of the back in white letters that are also in a rubberized style. Exhibiting just light game-wear through pilling seen at each cuff from rubbing against Mike's goalie gloves, pilling in the armpits and a small hole in the team crest, it is worth point out for accuracy that staining is present over both shoulders as well. Additionally, an included image of Curran taken during the tournament appears to show the small dot of blue stitching that is found at the bottom of the white stripe near Curran's left hip but is not clear enough for us to call a definite photo-match
