Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Seeing action in the IHL from only 1973 to 1977, we have an exceedingly scarce Columbus Owls game-worn jersey attributed to Jim Vanni. Originating as the Columbus Golden Seals in 1971, the team later relocated to Dayton after 1977. Cambridge Athletic Wear labeling sits affixed to the collar along with a second laundering tag, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 46. Styled with a tri-colour vinyl team crest, the red V-neck has been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching team patches over each shoulder. A few dark marks are visible over the front and sleeves, with a portion of the team crest peeling away. There is also a large slit over the right shoulder, with the reverse number missing threading along one section.
