This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Five great players inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame have signed this spectacular memento of the NHL’s first member of the 500 Goal Club, the immortal Maurice Richard. The Rocket’s bold black marker autograph with his iconic No. 9 is sprawled across the ice between his skates in this magnificent vintage illustration of his milestone goal on a page cut from 1an old Montreal Canadiens calendar of that era. Dickie Moore and Jean Beliveau, who each assisted on the Rocket’s 500th goal, also placed big bold marker signatures on the vintage full color image. Chicago Black Hawks defenseman Pierre Pilote’s autograph makes a total of four deceased HOFers who have signed in addition to legendary goalie Glenn Hall, depicted with the puck behind him in the net in this depiction of Richard’s 500th goal at the old Montreal Forum on October 19, 1957. A James Spence Authentication sticker with certification No. SS83637 affixed to the bottom right of the page, just below the calendar description of the scene pictured by renowned Montreal sports artist Tex Coulter. The four corners have tears and the bottom two have small stains, none of which detract from the display of this “500” tribute with vibrant colors celebrating the NHL’s first 500th goal that is autographed by five hockey greats, four of whom are now deceased. Comes with a JSA Basic Cert for the autographs.
