The NHL record holder for most hits in a season, Matt Martin spent a trio of seasons with Sarnia, playing on a line with Steven Stamkos before making his NHL debut with the New York Islanders, in 2009-10. The Windsor native would see action with Toronto for a pair of seasons beginning in 2016-17 before being dealt back to New York. This throwback-style Toronto Arenas jersey was worn by Martin during the second period of the Leafs’ Next Century Game, played on Dec 19, 2017 (Toronto defeated Carolina, 8-1). An Adidas band with “58” sizing resides over the inner collar, with NHL and Adidas crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Featuring the classic Toronto Arenas team crest fully administered in thick white felt with vintage-style sewing pattern, “15” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Martin” across the affixed nameplate. “2” has also been handwritten over the fight strap, with a price tag from the team store affixed to the laundering tag. Worn for just a single contest, the jersey exhibits a few faint marks. The team patch numbered “H0180” is situated over the inside hem, with a matching COA to accompany from the Leafs.
