A modern day NHL journeyman who developed with the Cornwall Royals of the Ontario Hockey League, Matthieu Schneider would play in over 1,200 National Hockey League contests with 10 different clubs during his career, winning a Stanley Cup with the team that drafted him, the Montreal Canadiens in 1993. Representing the United States of America in international competition, winning gold at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and playing in both the 1998 and 2006 Olympic Winter Games, offered here is this Montreal Canadiens "Turn Back the Clock" jersey worn by Schneider during the 1991-92 season. Celebrating the NHL’s 75th anniversary with each Original Six club wearing a throwback-style jersey, the CCM made garment sports both size "52" and Maska Ultrafil labels affixed to the inner collar while the logos of CCM and the NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a vintage style Canadiens team crest in layered tackle twill, the NHL's 75th anniversary patch, worn by all the league's teams throughout the celebratory season, has been added over the left breast. Having had Schneider's number "8" sewn to the reverse in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill style, "Schneider" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back. Exhibiting excellent game-wear with slash marks and some pilling over the lower front, both sleeves exhibit use in the form of board burns, stick marks and numerous unrepaired holes. With the fight strap on the interior showing salting and signs of multiple washings throughout the season, pilling and fraying is observed in the area of both elbows. A special piece, a MeiGray LOA and COR will accompany.
