Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
His fifth season in Pittsburgh, Martin Straka played in only 13 games with the club in 2001-02 after breaking his leg early-on in the season. He would play in 60 games the following season before being traded to Los Angeles after 22 games in 2003-04. This Penguins alternate captain's jersey was worn by Straka during the 2001-02 NHL season. A Penguins label signed by equipment manager Steve Latin is affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring-out to a size 52, with embroidered NHL and KOHO crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with the Pens team crest that saw use from 1999-2002, the solid black V-neck has been accented with "82" in oversized and textured tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Straka” over the nameplate in matching material. Great game use is shown on the garment, with a few puck/stick marks to the team crest and heavy board burns/transfer marks to the left sleeve. An LOA from the Penguins will accompany.
