Arriving in Minnesota from New York early in 1988 in a multi-player deal, Mark Tinordi would spend six seasons with the franchise which included captaining the North Stars as they became the Dallas Stars in 1993-94. A gold medalist with Team Canada at the 1991 Canada Cup, offered here is this jersey worn by Tinordi during the 1988-89 campaign, his first in Minnesota. Made by CCM, a washed out Maska Air-Knit label is affixed to the inner collar while the jersey itself measures out to roughly a size "54". Accented over the reverse hem with an embroidered CCM logo and "Team Choice" in individually sewn on black letters, the front of the jersey is styled with a traditional North Stars team crest in layered tackle twill. Styled over the sleeves and verso in dual layer white-over-yellow drop-shadow tackle twill numerals, "Tinordi" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Playing a total of forty-seven (47) games during the year, the jersey exhibits good game wear including stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves as well as board burns on both sleeves, a team repair to the right forearm, staining around the collar, lower front, lower reverse, underneath the team crest and both sleeves, an unrepaired hole on the lower reverse and numerous popped stitches around the collar from fights. With additional battle scars observed through a large team repair underneath the front crest, a customized fight strap is utilized on the interior, which also sports good pilling at the elbows.
Of note, when turned inside out evidence of two former nameplates can be seen on the interior behind the Tinordi one that is currently in place with the removal of one causing holes were either repaired by the team or not. Both Richard Zemlak and Tom Martin wore the number "24" early on in the 1988-89 season with Zemlak wearing it for three (3) games (October 8th, October 13th and October 26th) and Martin wearing it for two (2) games on November 17th and November 19th before Tinordi made his debut in it on December 10th.
