Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
One of modern hockey’s most dominant forwards, Mark Messier is second on the all-time career list for playoff points, and third for all-time regular season points. Messier reached the 100th point plateau for the first time of his career on March 23rd 1983, as the Oilers fell to the Winnipeg Jets in a 7-4 tear-jerker. Mark has gone on to repeat this astonishing feat five more times throughout his career! The official Jets game puck from Mark's milestone goal has been wrapped with a strip of now-aged cloth tape and marked "Messier 100th pt. Loss Wpg. Wpg 7 – 4 Ed", with a large “10” also handwritten. Originating from the archives of the Edmonton Oilers, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
Addendum: the date of the game was March 23rd 1983 not April 1st 1983 as stated in our printed catalog.
