Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Mario Lemieux put on one of the greatest shows in NHL All-Star Game history at the 1988 midseason classic. Super Mario scored his third goal and sixth point in overtime to lead the Wales Conference to a 6-5 win in St. Louis. This Lemieux 1988 All-Star Game jersey is originally from the collection of HOF defenseman Larry Robinson. It comes with two LOAs, including one signed by Robinson, who had the jersey gifted to him by Lemieux after he wore it during the warmup and the Wales All-Stars team photo shoot. The 39th NHL All-Star Game patch is sewn on the left shoulder of Lemieux’s No. 66 jersey, which has a “Maska” remnant of the fly tag cut out of the collar and has no visible game use, as is to be expected.
Lemieux’s surname is spelled out in black tackle twill letters sewn on a nameplate on the back, and the No. 66 on the back and both sleeves, NHL crest on the front, and the stars on the sleeves and front and rear tails are all sewn-on tackle twill. An NHL All-Star shield patch is sewn on the right shoulder.
