Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

Making his anticipated NHL debut for the Pittsburgh Penguins on Oct 11, 1984, Mario Lemieux would score his first NHL goal while taking his first shot, during his first shift – a sign of his dominance to come. From those early days when Mario was thrilling Penguins fans and frustrating opposing netminders, circa 1985-87, we have a rarely-seen Pittsburgh Penguins Mario Lemieux pro-style replica jersey. Cooper and Gerry Cosby labels grace the collar along with an “Extra Large” tag, with the vintage mesh jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 52. Styled with a rubberized Pens team crest, “66” appears over the sleeves and verso in heat-pressed vinyl, with “Lemieux” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. There is also an embroidered Cooper logo over the reverse hem, with the fight strap cut-away and removed. Remaining in gorgeous condition, the jersey is ideal for display.
