Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
After leading the L.A. Kings in scoring for the 8th straight season but seeing them miss the playoffs, Marcel Dionne again packed his bags, this time for Munich, Germany and the World Ice Hockey Championships. Dionne scored 6 goals while adding 3 assists in 10 tournament games to help lead Canada to a 3rd place finish. This is the medal that Marcel and his teammates received for their participation in the tournament. At 2 ¾” in diameter, two generic hockey players battle on the obverse, encompassed by "World Championships" in raised letters, while the reverse includes a globe over two crossed hockey sticks, with "International Ice Hockey Federation" encircling the perimeter along with “1983” above. The superb international hockey memento is in beautiful condition and will come in a presentation box (not original), accompanied by an LOA signed by Marcel Dionne.
