A veteran of 454 National Hockey League games and a four-time Stanley Cup champion, Marcel Bonin would play the final games of his career during the 1961-62 season when he registered 21 points in 33 games played before suffering a career ending injury. Having been named to the NHL All-Star Game roster in 1954, 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960, offered here is this impressive silver-plated ice bucket that was presented to Bonin for the Habs first-place finish during the NHL's 1961-62 regular season. Scripted engraving on the handled bucket reads “National Hockey League - League Champions 1961-62 – Club De Hockey Canadien Inc. – Marcel Bonin”, with additional markings along the underside of “Victorian Plate/E.P. Copper (electro plated on copper)/B.M. Mounts/Made in Canada/1968”.
Remaining in overall good condition considering its age and appearing to be free from any major dings and dents, heavy tarnishing and some surface finish loss is present along with scratches and a couple of light bends around the rim and edge of the lid, which prevent the lid from sitting flush on top as it should.
