Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Only the third goalie ever selected first overall in the National Hockey League Entry Draft, the Pittsburgh Penguins selected the budding French-Canadian netminder with the lead pick in 2003, with Fleury calling Pittsburgh home for 13 seasons, winning a trio of Stanley Cups in the process and enjoying a Hall of Fame caliber career thus far. A surefire Hockey Hall of Fame inductee once he retires, offered here is this collection of three (3) Marc-Andre Fleury hockey cards from his rookie season of 2003-04. Paced by a copy of his SP Authentic Future Watch RPA that has been freshly graded by PSA, the card has earned a mark of NM 7 after inspection, with a patch swatch from one of Fleury's jerseys having been embedded over the front. Signed underneath the swatch with a blue marker ink autograph that displays without issue, the card is serial numbered "019/100" along the bottom and shows light wear to the edges, corners and surface while being housed in a flawless PSA holder. Also including a jersey/autograph card from 2003-04 In The Game-Used Signature series and an Ultimate Game-Used Stick card from ITG Ultimate Memorabilia 4th Edition, both cards feature black marker ink signatures from Marc-Andre with the one on the Signature Series card being a sticker autograph and the one on the Ultimate Memorabilia card, which is hand serial numbered "14/30" on the reverse, an on card auto that shows light fading from age. Featuring either pieces of jersey or stick worn/used by Fleury embedded into the front of both cards, both remain in the condition range of EX-MT to NM or better after inspection, showing just light wear to the corners and edges.
