Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
No stranger to hosting world class sporting and cultural events, Maple Leaf Gardens was named a National Historic Site of Canada in 2007, due to it’s status as “one of the most renowned shrines in the history of hockey”. From the early days of the Gardens, we have a pair of MLG programs from 1932-33, with an example for a double-header of minor league hockey accompanied by a program produced for wrestling at the venue. First, the hockey program includes a classic Toronto cover by noted Leafs artist Lou Skuce, with the matches to include the Ottawa Shamrocks vs Newmarket and the Ottawa Rideaus taking on Niagara Falls. The wrestling program reflects the event on the cover, with page 18A listing tidbits. The hockey program exhibits light to moderate wear with a few fingerprints on the cover and rusting to the staples. The wrestling program is in lower grade, with the front and back covers torn and nearly detached.
