Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2020
From his second and third stints in sunny California with the Los Angeles Kings, we have a great group of items from the collection of superstar Luc Robitaille. Included, we have a CCM helmet from 1999-01, TPS gloves worn during the early-2000s, and a Kings practice jersey with use attributed to Robitaille during the 1990s. The lot also includes a trio of sticks, with an Innovative Inno 2000 game stick (model used in 2003-04), an Innovative 1100 game stick (model used in 2005-06 with Kings) and a Warrior model game stick, with each having older game-used “Robitaille” Christian blades from the mid-1990s inserted (the Innovative 1100 and Warrior shafts also appear to show game-use). A signed LOA from Luc Robitaille will accompany.
The helmet was worn in either 1999-00 or 2000-01 and features intact padding (loose) and chin strap, with Kings decals over each side and “20” over the lower reverse, with an NHL decal near the right ear and Kings sticker near the left. Heavy use is shown with one screw missing from the right side, and heavy wear to the material throughout including scratches and surface abrasions. There is also some soiling to the interior padding. The gloves show heavy wear with rubbing to the leather and red paint transfer over the right glove (the gloves were possibly re-palmed). The practice jersey is in solid grey with rubberized Kings logo and a CCM crest over the reverse hem, with good use shown including marks. All three sticks sport “Robitaille” over the upper shaft, with the 2005-06 sticks both having white tape over the handles, with heavier wear to each of the inserted Christian stick blades.
A portion of the sales from the Luc Robitaille personal collection will benefit the Echoes of Hope Foundation. Founded in 2007 by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of children, youth, and young adults in need by alleviating barriers and helping them reach their full potential.
