Jacques Plante Auction March 2006
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/28/2006
Terrific souvenir of the Maple Leafs’ Stanley Cup victory in the spring of 1963, this silvery serving tray features the images of hockey’s ultimate prize and the Prince of Wales Trophy, along with the facsimile autographs of the men who brought Toronto its second of three consecutive championships. After Jacques Plante joined the Leafs in 1970, Toronto’s Harold Ballard gave this tray to Jacques’ wife Caroline as a present and it has been in her possession ever since, until now. Measuring approximately 10” by 17”, the handled tray is in “EX+” condition with only a few small, barely noticeable surface scratches to mention. From Harold Ballard’s home to the Plantes’ and now on to yours, it’ll be accompanied by Caroline Plante’s signed LOA.
