Beautiful red dureen Canadiens road jersey was worn by Hall of Fame defenceman Serge Savard in the early 1970's when Montreal was putting together a team that would bring the city 4 consecutive championships in the latter part of the decade. Savard, who helped the Habs to Cup wins in his first 2 seasons in the 1960's, was also part of championship teams in '71 and ‘73. The seemingly lost art of ragging and/or passing the puck amongst teammates to kill off a penalty was something that Savard and his mates excelled at. Also memorable was Savard's patented "spin-a-rama" move to elude oncomers. This gorgeous Canadiens tie-neck style gamer was manufactured by Wilson and has the company's tag in the neck. The tri-color Canadiens nylon crest and the numbers on the back and sleeves are sewn-on. A garter-style fight strap is sewn in the tail. The jersey exhibits light use with significant interior pilling throughout. There's a quarter-size hole in the left hip area on the back. Jersey has been preserved in fabulous condition and will be an awesome addition to a Canadiens/vintage jersey collection. A LOA will be included.
